Yesterday, Georgia’s Governor signed HB 1302, the Education and Workforce Strategy Act, taking an important step toward a more coordinated, statewide approach to understanding its credential landscape. The legislation supports greater alignment across education and workforce systems, including efforts to identify and map credentials such as degrees, certificates, microcredentials, digital badges, and apprenticeships to in-demand careers, supported by expanded data governance.
When credential data is open, linked, and shared across systems, it becomes a powerful tool. It helps learners navigate pathways, enables employers to identify talent, and supports policymakers in making more informed workforce investments.
