Erick Montenegro is the Director of Communications for Credential Engine where he oversees the overall communications strategy and serves as a storyteller to elevate Credential Engine’s work among national and local audiences in support of the organization’s goals.
Prior to joining Credential Engine, Erick was the communications coordinator and research analyst for the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment. On top of leading their communications efforts, Erick helped launch the national conversation on equity-minded assessment and is a leading voice in this movement. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Quality Assurance Commons for Higher and Postsecondary Education (QA Commons).
Erick holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received a dual Bachelor’s in Marketing and Business Administration with a concentration in International Business, and an Ed.M. in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education both from the University of Illinois.
