On August 28, Scott Cheney will travel to Chicago, Illinois, to present at the Illinois Military Pathways to Careers Summit. Sponsored by the Medal of Honor (MOH) recipient, Allen J. Lynch Veterans Assistance Program, this event will host rich discussions exploring how to replicate and streamline national training guidelines at the local level as well as highlight career pathways efforts in the military, union, nonprofit, and private sectors.
Cheney will be joined by panelists from the Illinois Department of Labor, Teamsters, and the Chicago Federation of Labor to discuss industry and union apprenticeship program transparency. The panel will be moderated by Johnathan Harmon, Executive Director of the Power for America Training Trust Fund at the Utility Workers Union of America. During this session, Cheney will detail the progress of Credential Engine’s current work in both states and with the U.S. Navy and detail the importance credential transparency has for servicemembers and spouses alike.
“The summit will be an opportunity for leadership and affiliates to learn about existing successful efforts that have enhanced opportunities in the exchange of military transitions to employment, but also to explore and identify new and emerging partnerships on the horizon.”
