Tomorrow, Partnership Solutions Lead, Laura Faulkner, will moderate a conversation of retail, restaurant, and hospitality workforce experts as part of the ACT Workforce Summit 2018. This annual event tackles tough emerging issues and highlights innovative practices in both education and workforce at a number of levels, from local to federal. According to the event’s page, ACT proudly brings together a myriad of voices to this conference—from “secondary education, including Career and Technical Education, post-secondary education, community colleges (credit and non-credit), adult education and literacy program personnel, state and local workforce development, youth program specialists, vocational rehabilitation, re-entry programs, chambers of commerce, industry associations, employers, and human resource specialists.”
Faulkner will lead the discussion during the “Retail, Restaurant and Hospitality Credentials and Careers: Lessons from the Field” panel where attendees can expect to, “hear tangible solutions for better aligning training with in-demand skills and learn how sector leaders are working to ensure that all stakeholders to have access to comparable, transparent data about credentials, competencies, and their labor market value.”
