Ohio is a longtime Credential Engine partner working to align postsecondary credentials with workforce needs. With support from a 2025 Gates grant, 17 community colleges added credential data to the Registry, alongside manufacturing competency frameworks and stackable credentials. Ohio Jobs and Family Services also added nearly 800 occupations and related workforce outcomes, creating a clearer view of pathways from credentials to careers.

The Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) which serves as the coordinating board for all public institutions in the state is committed to advancing credential transparency statewide because they believe deeply in its value. State leaders are using linked open data as a catalyst to make more intentional connections–not just within their own state, but also across the entire Midwest region.
