Credential Engine is pioneering a transformative approach through OPEN, a groundbreaking initiative designed to convert publicly available credential, skill, and job information into structured, Credential Transparency Description Language (CTDL) linked open data. This initiative creates the potential to leverage extensive, comprehensive datasets, significantly expanding the Credential Registry, a repository of credential data monitored by Credential Engine, accelerating its growth.
Previously, this public information was trapped in isolated systems and sources; now, Credential Engine has transformed it into consistent, structured data using CTDL format that can be seamlessly linked with other datasets. More than simply sharing data, this collaborative approach represents a system-wide effort to create a more equitable and efficient data ecosystem, enabling individuals to make more informed decisions about their educational and professional opportunities by making complex landscapes more navigable and transparent.
