Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) was a recipient of a 2025 subgrant from the Gates Foundation and AMPP is committed to improving its data landscape for trades members and employers. This initiative aims to quickly enable individuals to gain employment by using alternative pathways. These pathways prioritize skill validation and connecting people to opportunities based on their skills. The initiative also aims to increase awareness of opportunities. It recognizes the complex industry entry requirements. This initiative uses data such as Learner Employment Records (LERs), skill profiles, and skill wallets. It also uses tools like “Crew Finder” to connect individuals and employers based on verified skills. By focusing on skills and providing resources, the initiative can broaden the talent pool and streamline the hiring process. This benefits both job seekers and employers.
