About
Florida
This is a collaborative initiative to build an interoperable credential registry, dashboard, and end user tools in the state of Florida. Leaders in Florida are looking to better align and integrate the state’s workforce education and development systems, and they recognize that making information about all credentials and competencies transparent and publicly accessible using CTDL is key. Currently, data is captured and collected locally and only available to the state Department of Education upon request rather than in real-time.
To implement this vision for workforce and educational data integration, the FL Department of Education directed a multi-agency coalition to standardize information on credentials, which powers the Education Meets Opportunity Platform (EMOP). EMOP provides Florida agencies consistent data on all Florida credentialing programs and WIOA providers – as well as the degree to which they are serving Florida’s labor market – so they can make wise policy and resourcing decisions.
