This morning, Forbes published an article that highlights why three states — Alabama, Connecticut, and Florida — are committed to credential transparency.

We know there are over 23,000 credentials combined across Alabama, Connecticut, and Florida — each representing an opportunity for their residents to get ahead; opportunities which are being made clearer and more attainable through credential transparency.

With nearly half of the states forging partnerships with Credential Engine, this commitment is growing across the country as more and more states identify credential transparency as crucial for economic recovery and long-term flexibility.

Better aligning state data systems through a shared credential language — the Credential Transparency Description Language (CTDL) — helps states better identify connecting points and gaps between education and work. Further, placing detailed credential data in learners’ hands makes this information actionable and allows people to pursue credentials and participate in the workforce effectively and efficiently.
