On February 21, Credential Engine’s Laura Faulkner will appear as a featured speaker at the 15th annual Achieving the Dream Conference, held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California.
The four-day event, from February 19 to February 22, will gather American higher education professionals and experts to discuss new strategies that address current and future major institutional issues, such as equity, student supports and Open Educational Resources (OERs), pathways, as well as data and technology.
Faulkner, the Partnership Solutions Lead at Credential Engine, will present on behalf of Credential Engine as the second of four speakers at a session titled ”The Currency of Credentials and Why It Matters.”
Speakers during this session will talk about the Credential Registry and how Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana’s state community college system, uses the Registry to help its on-campus efforts to demonstrate how their credentials meet employer needs, provide credential pathways, and more. Another discussed topic will be how skills posted to the Credential Registry and other similar channels can assist students by clearly showing what they have already learned. Employers can also benefit from this clarity and institutions’ adoption of the Registry as a resource.
