The Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, business-led public policy organization that delivers well-researched analysis and reasoned solutions to our nation’s most critical issues.
To help close the skills gap so our nation remains globally competitive, CED surveyed employers and non-employers about the methods they are using – and also the challenges and impediments – to support the education attainment and skills certification of employees. CED’s research report, “A National Imperative: the Role of Business in Promoting Educational Attainment,” examines how employers in select metropolitan areas are supporting their employees in advancing postsecondary education and identifies barriers to those efforts.
